The position involves hands-on patient clinical care, specifically in fitting and applying orthoses. The role requires conducting physical assessments and orthotic requirement assessments, as well as verifying prescriptions and documentation. The individual will consult with and/or refer patients to other healthcare professionals as necessary. Adjustments to orthoses will be made to accommodate individual anatomic contours, and patient education and instruction will be a key component of the role. Compliance with practice management plans is essential to develop and document policies and procedures that ensure patient well-being, which includes adherence to applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, following patient care guidelines and procedures, and maintaining a safe and professional environment for patient care. The role also involves comprehension of claims development and submission, including Brightree patient entry, insurance guidelines and verification, insurance prior authorization submissions to the billing department, and ICD 10 coding.
