About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled BC/BE Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our established practice in Big Flats, NY. Our surgeons are specialty trained and offer the latest technological advancements while remaining committed to improving health through clinical excellence and compassion; Every Patient. Every Time. This position offers the opportunity to join an established Orthopedic Practice with a strong referral base, starting with a schedule of 2 days in the OR and 3 days in the clinic. There is also the opportunity to regionalize to other Guthrie locations for practice growth, with procedures performed at the Big Flats Same Day Surgery Center, the region's first multispecialty ambulatory surgical center of its kind. The call schedule is 1:5 with APP coverage, and medical school faculty appointments are available through GCSOM, along with leadership opportunities and support for further education.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Specialty training in hand surgery
• Valid medical license in New York State
• DEA certificate and ability to maintain it

• Interest in academic medicine and teaching
• Leadership experience in a clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Perform orthopedic hand surgeries and procedures
• Manage patient care in the clinic and operating room
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Engage in teaching opportunities for medical students and residents
• Contribute to clinical academic appointments as part of Guthrie's residency and fellowship programs
• Support practice growth by regionalizing to other Guthrie locations as needed
• Mentor and train other physicians and medical staff
