Key Position Details: This casual onsite outpatient Ortho Urgent Care APP will cover three Allina Health clinics: Woodbury, Lakeville & Coon Rapids PRN weekend coverage (Saturday/Sunday 9am – 5 pm) Potential weekday PTO/LOA coverage

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Minimum of two years of post‑training clinical Orthopedic experience required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (for NP) – Minnesota Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) or equivalent PA certification within specialty upon hire.
  • Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire
  • BLS Tier 1 - Multisource required within 180 Days
  • Drug Enforcement Administration registration required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care to urgent care patients.
  • Complete comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determine diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests in collaboration with attending physicians.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, therapies, and medical equipment.
  • Provide patient education related to chronic illness management and wellness care.
  • Refer patients to specialty care as appropriate.
  • Consult with physicians when care needs fall outside NP/PA scope or when diagnosis or treatment plans are unclear.
  • Promote communication within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to team members.
  • Collaborate with primary care teams for program development.
  • Act as a liaison with external agencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
