About The Position

As an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon/Traumatologist at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you can expect to split time with the Utah Valley Hospital Orthopedic Trauma Services team, which currently consists of 2 fellowship trained surgeon, 2 APP's, and additional support staff. In this role, you can anticipate: Practicing from Utah Valley Hospital and Utah Valley Orthopedic Clinic in Provo, Utah Dedicated daily, fully staffed, orthopedic trauma room Dedicated clinic and OR days Weekday orthopedic trauma hospital shifts, with unrestricted night, weekend, and holiday hospital call Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support in clinic and OR; APP will take first call when on shift Helping Utah Valley Hospital, currently a level II trauma center, move to a level I trauma designation. An ideal candidate will practice with a team-based approach to care and referrals, as well as have special interest in teaching/academics to support new medical school at Brigham Young University (medical school recently announced).

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
  • ACGME accredited residency training in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery.
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
  • BLS certification and DEA.
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide orthopedic trauma care at Utah Valley Hospital and Utah Valley Orthopedic Clinic.
  • Work with a team of healthcare professionals including surgeons and APPs.
  • Manage weekday orthopedic trauma hospital shifts.
  • Participate in unrestricted night, weekend, and holiday hospital call.
  • Support the transition of Utah Valley Hospital from a level II to a level I trauma center.
  • Engage in teaching and academic support for the new medical school at Brigham Young University.
