About The Position

Job Summary: Casting and splinting applications and associated procedures (on the job training provided) Dressing changes, associated applications and suture removal (on the job training provided) Consistently orders and manages casting supplies and DME to ensure adequate inventory Educates patients and caregivers of specific care related to casts, splints, dressings, and durable medical equipment (DME) Fit patients on a variety of DME (on the job training provided) Familiar and proficient in EMR and DME Dispensing software systems Knowledgeable and familiar with billing and insurance procedures related to casting and DME Capable of anticipating Provider and patient needs while performing on a multi task level Assists patient care staff with rooming patients and performing vital signs as needed Facilitates patient flow by coordinating patient care in an efficient manner Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations Available for Ortho Now early evening coverage as needed

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent Diploma
  • Current Athletic Training Certification
  • Current New York State Athletic Training Licensure
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross to include AED certification
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
