The Orthopedic Technician applies orthopedic treatment items/technologies to patients upon the order of a physician. He/She assists the physicians as directed and assists the Registered Nurse in the care of the orthopedic patient as requested. He/She acts as a resource for the entire facility regarding applied technologies as well as other orthopedic related concerns. He/She also serves to instruct patients and allied health care personnel in the use and care of applicable technologies. Functions under the supervision of the Manager of Orthopedic Services and the Orthopedic Technologist Supervisor. Under the direction of a physician, may function in an assistive or independent capacity. The Orthopedic Technician performs the duties described in all applicable clinical settings within the hospital in both inpatient and outpatient areas. The Orthopedic Technician is accountable to the Manager of Orthopedic Services and the Orthopedic Technologist Supervisor
