About The Position

Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, the Orthopedic Tech job applies casts, splints and other DME to the Orthopaedic patient population in an outpatient setting. This role provides patient/family teaching to a wide variety of patients with varying educational levels. This role also orders and maintains supplies in the cast room.

  • BLS Certification Required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Lifting greater than 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Applies casts, splints and other DME to the Orthopaedic patient population in an outpatient setting.
  • Provides patient/family teaching to a wide variety of patients with varying educational levels.
  • Orders and maintains supplies in the cast room.
  • Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner in providing patient care related to casts, splints and wound care all in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
