Partners with healthcare team and assesses, prioritizes and provides care to clinic patient population. Meets specific requirements, goals, and competencies established within the Orthopedic clinic. Location: Greenfield Clinic (3365 South 103rd St., Milwaukee, WI 53227) Onsite: Monday-Friday (8 hr shifts)

Requirements

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • Must be able to transfer and ambulate patients, lift orthopedic devices, stand for long periods of time and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently bends, lifts, twists, reaches, and squats. Occasionally push/pulls and does overhead work.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, patients, parents and staff.
  • Requires flexibility of time and duties in order to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Familiarity with personal computer operations and functions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, providers, staff, and leadership.
  • Good analytical ability to observe and communicate problems as they arise.
  • Promotes courteous behavior as outlines in the department's guest relations’ guidelines.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross within 90 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • Course work in biology or physics preferred
  • Experience in a pediatric setting preferred
  • Knowledge of orthopedic surgery instruments, orthopedic casting techniques, application of braces, normally acquired through a minimum of one year related experience preferred.
  • CMA-Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants Preferred
  • ORTHO-Orthopedic Technician - National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists, Inc. Preferred
