About The Position

We invite experienced Advanced Practice Providers to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds, and visionaries together within our Orthopedic Surgical Sports Medicine team supporting the Indian Trail location. Atrium Health’s Musculoskeletal Institute (MSKI) is one of the largest Musculoskeletal programs in the country. We have an extensive network of physicians within the institute including spine, orthopedics, primary care sports medicine, physical medicine, and rehabilitation. This APP will support a Surgical Sports Medicine physician joining the Union market and will function as an integrated member of the Orthopedic Surgical care team across clinic and procedural environments. Details About the Opportunity • Full-time opportunity • Monday through Friday schedule • Hours will vary based on surgery schedule, clinic coverage, and call burden • Participation in rotating call schedule required, including weekends and holidays • Clinical and surgical support within a high-volume Orthopedic Surgical Sports practice • Evaluation and management of orthopedic conditions and injuries • Assist in surgical coordination and perioperative patient management • Perform procedures within scope including splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care • Interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible to practice in North Carolina as one of the following:
  • Physician Assistant
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Graduate from an accredited PA or ACNP program required
  • National board certification required (NCCPA or ANCC/AANP as applicable)
  • DEA license required or eligible
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority through the NC Medical Board or NC Board of Nursing
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration greater than 90 days from start date

Responsibilities

  • Clinical and surgical support within a high-volume Orthopedic Surgical Sports practice
  • Evaluation and management of orthopedic conditions and injuries
  • Assist in surgical coordination and perioperative patient management
  • Perform procedures within scope including splinting, bracing, casting, injections/aspirations, and wound care
  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate on treatment planning
