About The Position

Kaiser Permanente - The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Trauma surgeon to join our group of over 20 talented surgeons and 20 orthopedic PAs in beautiful Walnut Creek, California. You will be close to San Francisco, Napa, the coast, and beautiful Lake Tahoe. You will be joining our fellowship trained trauma surgeon and supporting trauma team in covering two busy hospitals (non-trauma designation) with abundant complex trauma referrals. Kaiser Permanente is the dominant health care provider in California and our two facilities have near the highest volume of fracture care referrals. An orthopedic trauma block is reserved 5 days per week. On average, 1 in 10 call, 3+ operative days per week, 40 hours per week plus variable call hours. Excellent time off and benefits are included.

Requirements

  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Orthopedics.
  • Current California medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma.

Nice To Haves

  • Adept and willing to take on complex upper extremity trauma.

Responsibilities

  • Cover two busy hospitals with complex trauma referrals.
  • Participate in an orthopedic trauma block reserved 5 days per week.
  • Manage a diverse trauma practice including pelvis and acetabulum injuries, complex peri-articular injuries, geriatric and pediatric trauma, non-unions, infections, and complex soft tissue management.
  • Perform complex upper extremity trauma surgeries including complex elbow reconstruction and total shoulder arthroplasty for fractures.
