About The Position
The Orthopedic Surgery position in Oswego, New York, offers a unique opportunity for a Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) Orthopedic Surgeon to join a well-established practice that has recently moved into a new facility equipped with modern amenities. The center features onsite imaging with a dedicated x-ray technician and an upgraded operating room that includes the CORI robot, while still utilizing Visionaire technology. The practice is currently working towards certification in total hip and knee procedures through the Joint Commission, indicating a commitment to high-quality care. This high-volume practice sees approximately 22-25 patients per day, supported by a robust staffing model that includes two MDs, two clinic Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and two surgical APPs, with plans to expand the surgical team to three APPs. The work schedule is structured for efficiency and patient care, with outpatient hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and inpatient hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM when on call. The position requires approximately seven days of emergency department (ED) call per month, which includes five weekdays and one weekend as part of the base contract. Additionally, one weekend per month is required, with a local provider sharing weekend call responsibilities. The types of procedures performed in the clinic include bread and butter orthopedics, joint replacements, sports medicine, PRP injections, and some hand, foot/ankle, and trauma cases. The practice is particularly interested in expanding its offerings in upper extremity and sports medicine. The electronic medical record (EMR) system used in the practice is Meditech, which facilitates efficient patient management and documentation.
