About The Position

WellSpan Medical Group (WMG) is seeking an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our growing practice in Gettysburg/Hanover. The individual must be a graduate of an accredited school of medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree plus completion of a medical residency training program in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship training in Hand/Upper Extremity. He or she must also be Board Certified or Board Eligible. This is an employed position with WMG, featuring a general orthopedic call of 1:6, 1 - 2 OR days per week, and a state-of-the-art surgery center in Hanover, which is among the largest and most technologically advanced outpatient surgery centers in the region. The position offers a large referral base of WMG family and internal medicine physicians and excellent support, as each surgeon has 2 Medical Assistants.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
• Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine upon hire required.
• Certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery upon hire required.
• Completion of an appropriate residency program upon hire required.
• Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of one or more WellSpan hospitals upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Provide musculoskeletal specialty care and medical treatment to patients.
• Participate in general orthopedic call.
