About The Position

The Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon plays a critical role in the emergency and long-term care of patients with complex musculoskeletal injuries. This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Emergency Physicians, Trauma Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Rehabilitation Specialists, to provide rapid assessment, surgical intervention, and recovery planning for traumatic orthopedic injuries. The surgeon specializes in managing severe fractures, joint dislocations, soft tissue injuries, and other musculoskeletal trauma resulting from accidents, falls, or high-impact events. Responsibilities include performing advanced procedures such as fracture fixation, limb reconstruction, and soft tissue repair, while also guiding post-surgical rehabilitation to restore function and mobility. Additionally, the Trauma Orthopedic Surgeon collaborates with emergency and critical care teams to stabilize patients and develop individualized recovery strategies.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution
  • Board certified/eligible at time of employment
  • Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment
  • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
  • Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship or substantial experience in complex trauma surgery

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries
  • Perform surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and soft tissue reconstructions
  • Educate patients about surgical and non-surgical treatment options
  • Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital policies and industry regulations
  • On Call rotation with the provider group
