JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician – Orthopedic Surgery • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Cottonwood, AZ • Service Setting: Acute Care Hospital and Clinic • Coverage Type: Call Only • Coverage Period: January 16, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Clinic coverage 1–2 days per block • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour beeper call • Call Type: Beeper • Call Ratio: TBD • Call Response Time: TBD • Callback Rate: TBD COVERAGE DATES • January 16, 2026 (7:00 AM) – January 19, 2026 (7:00 AM) • February 12, 2026 (7:00 AM) – February 16, 2026 (7:00 AM) • March 27, 2026 (7:00 AM) – March 30, 2026 (7:00 AM) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults, Pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: Average 1–3 surgical cases per day; approximately 6 new consults per day • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: Yes • Case Mix: Bread-and-butter orthopedic cases, Level IV trauma, adult and pediatric cases FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 87 hospital beds • Trauma Level: Adult Level IV • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: OR equipment • Specialty Backup Available: OR scrub technicians • Support Staff Available: Scrub techs; no APP first assist PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: TBD COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General orthopedic surgery • Management of pelvic and acetabular fractures • Pediatric orthopedic cases JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Arizona license required; IMLC Letter of Qualification accepted • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery • DEA: Required • Certifications: BLS • Experience: Minimum 1 year orthopedic surgery experience • Other Qualifications: Ability to provide independent 24-hour call coverage DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide 24-hour beeper call coverage for orthopedic surgery services • Perform orthopedic surgical procedures as indicated • Conduct clinic visits during scheduled clinic days • Respond to emergency orthopedic consults • Document all patient care in Cerner EMR
