BJC Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join their established team at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. This position offers a comprehensive practice in orthopedic surgery, with a particular interest in total joint procedures being advantageous. The surgeon will benefit from a highly established primary care referral network, ensuring a busy practice from the outset. The role includes working within a collaborative team that includes Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for clinic and hospital rounding support. The call schedule involves a 1:4 rotation, with infrequent weekend call-ins, as hospitalists handle admissions for orthopedic surgeons.

  • Manage the medical care of patient panel by providing or arranging for inpatient hospital care of patients.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and members of the care team to ensure excellent patient care outcomes.
  • Perform and document medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
  • Provide or arrange for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage.
  • Collaborate and teach advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team member assigned in the care of the physician’s patient panel.
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Experience in orthopedic surgery, particularly in total joint procedures is advantageous.
  • Experience in a collaborative healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and patient management systems.
  • Two-year income guarantee followed by a work Relative Value Unit (wRVU) based compensation model.
  • $50,000 signing bonus and relocation assistance.
