About The Position

MRIoA is a national Independent Review Organization, who facilitates the review of medical claims to determine treatment appropriateness. The opportunity involves reviewing Prior Authorizations for treatment by applying nationally accepted medical and healthcare plan guidelines and providing expert, unbiased assessments while ensuring compliance with ERISA/DOL and state regulations. This position offers flexibility, allowing work as little as 1-2 hours per week, with no minimum requirement. Most cases take 30-60 minutes to complete. The role is designed to be remote, allowing work from anywhere in the US, although patient records cannot leave the US due to HIPAA regulations. This is an Independent Contractor (1099) opportunity and is covered under MRIoA’s Errors and Omissions policy.

Requirements

  • Must be an MD or DO
  • Must be Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Spine, Shoulder & Elbow, and/or Hip & Knee
  • Must have 5 years of patient care experience in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Must have an unrestricted New Mexico or Minnesota state medical license
  • Must be a US Citizen or hold a Green Card
