Sports Medicine/Orthopedic Surgeon Ochsner Health – Sports Medicine Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Sports Medicine Surgeon to help expand our innovative sports medicine program. In this role, you will develop cutting-edge treatment strategies and preventive care to active individuals and athletes of all ages and levels. This position would be associated with Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute, the premier sports medicine program in the Gulf South. The practice location will be Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Institute – Elmwood and additional locations within the greater New Orleans region. Our comprehensive program serves student athletes of all ages, middle school, high school, collegiate and professional athletes. We are the official Sports Medicine physicians for the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. We offer the entire sports medicine continuum with over 60 Athletic trainers. Ochsner Andrews Sports Medicine Ochsner is a proud partner with world renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr James Andrews, and Andrews Medicine. Starting in 2022, our partnership with Andrews Medicine has helped us continue to build upon our award-winning sports medicine program, sharing best practices around patient care and research. Dr. Andrews brings his expertise, research, and education platform, newly launched as Andrews Medicine, to strengthen the best-in-class care for patients and athletes across Louisiana and Mississippi. Position Highlights: Clinical and Surgical: Operate in both a clinical and surgical capacity, serving sports and orthopedic patients of all ages and levels. Program Development: Work with peers to continue the establishment and expansion of a dynamic sports medicine program with the Southeast Region. Academic: Opportunities include robust teaching and academic engagement with Ochsner Orthopedic Surgery residents, Sports Medicine fellows, medical students & upcoming Primary Care Sports Medicine fellows. Potential faculty appointments with the University of Queensland and Xavier Medical School, and participation in research initiatives. Patient Care: Deliver high-quality orthopedic and sports medicine care to athletes and active individuals. Innovative Solutions: Work with colleagues to develop and implement cutting-edge treatment protocols and preventive strategies for athletes of all ages. Collaborative Teamwork: Work with a multidisciplinary team across the entire sports medicine care continuum including physical therapists, athletic trainers, and strength coaches, to provide comprehensive patient care. Community Engagement/Outreach: Build partnerships with local sports organizations and community groups to promote overall sports health and wellness. Youth Athletics: Point person for select school partnerships within Athletic Training Program where obligations may include, but not limited to game coverage, pre-participation physicals and screenings, educational talks to student athletes/coaches, and more. Personalized Care: Create tailored treatment plans and support systems to enhance recovery and athletic performance for a diverse patient population.
