About The Position

The Orthopedic Sports Dietitian at Twin Cities Orthopedics is responsible for integrating clinical dietetics with performance fueling and wellness initiatives to provide comprehensive nutritional care and education. This full-time role focuses on supporting athletic performance, corporate wellness, and patient care within the orthopedic community, emphasizing collaboration and community outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an institution credentialed by Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) required.
  • Completed ACEND accredited supervised practice program.
  • Attained and upheld Registered Dietitian (RD, RDN) credentials through Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Minnesota dietetic licensure (LD, LDN) within 1 month of hire date.
  • 2+ years of sports nutrition experience in athletic and/or tactical organization required as a registered dietitian; additional clinical, corporate wellness, digestive health, weight management and/or behavioral health experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or Doctor of Philosophy in Dietetics or related field preferred.
  • CDR board certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and conduct individual, small and large group nutrition and wellness programs related to activity and sports performance, weight management, medical nutrition therapy, disordered eating and general health initiatives.
  • Provide public health education events in an adaptable outreach setting with interdepartmental collaborative functionality.
  • Provide individual therapeutic outpatient nutrition counseling and biometric screening in an orthopedic setting to support patient performance, health, activity and wellness goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to develop and implement solutions for nutrition consultation and education needs.
  • Introduce self and programs throughout the organization; develop meaningful relationships at multiple clinic sites.
  • Develop, evaluate, revise, and organize educational materials, classes and teaching materials.
  • Foster community relationships relating to nutrition services with partners who share the organization's core values; remain active in community projects and outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in strategy development and implementation of nutrition-based weight management, digestive health and/or performance nutrition programs.
  • Provide marketing and discussion of nutrition programs to providers internally and externally.
  • Communicate regularly with MDs/physical therapy managers and interdisciplinary team to best implement high quality, collaborative nutrition programs.
  • Ensure goals and strategies of TCO are implemented in the growth and development of nutrition services.
  • Monitor payments, attendance, and accountability reports for programs.
  • Work within set budgets for equipment/supply purchasing.
  • Maintain safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in community functions relating to outreach events throughout the year.
