Our team at Prairie Lakes makes a difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones POSITION SUMMARY This part-time (0.5 status or 20 hours per week) position assists Physician/Advanced Practice Provider by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the Medical Provider within the Scope of Practice. This position will also participate in outreach services in surrounding communities as part of its regular job duties. Wage: LPN-$22.88-$34.54 RN- $28.09-$44.81

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved accredited Nursing Program.
  • Holds or is eligible for licensure as a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse in South Dakota and Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process in providing patient care.
  • Applies nursing process, critical thinking, and judgment to clinical practice.
  • Performs duties such as answering phones, placing calls, scheduling, order entry, and obtaining old records.
  • Prepares patient charts for upcoming visits to ensure all results are available to include utilizing the electronic health record.
  • Assists with cleaning of patient treatment areas.
  • Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, nursing station, and supply carts.
  • Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to the sterile processing department.
  • Triages patient telephone calls for medical providers.
  • Reports information to Medical Provider and directs patients as orders are received.
  • Provides patient education through direct and/or telephone contact as directed by the Medical Provider.
  • Transports patients to appropriate areas.
  • Performs medication administration and technical skills within the Scope of Practice.
  • Coordinates and assists with discharge instructions, follow-up care, diagnostic testing, procedures, and medication instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
