About The Position

Per diem Orthopedic Physician Assistant - Vassar Brothers Medical Center (75 minutes north of New York City) The Orthopedic Surgery Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, proudly joining Northwell, is seeking to add a board-certified per diem Physician Assistant to join its team. The position will be primarily inpatient with possible coverage in the outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include OR coverage as well as management of admissions, consults, floor rounds, post-op management and discharge of patients. There is an extensive onboarding and training period as well as a supportive environment for collaboration and learning. Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a 365-bed facility that has served New York's Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. Overlooking the beautiful Hudson River in the city of Poughkeepsie, NY, Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care and women and children's health services. This is an extraordinary time for the hospital with new ACGME-accredited residency programs. Additionally, a new state-of-the-art patient pavilion which features all private rooms. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • NCCPA certified
  • Strong surgical and patient management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.
