About The Position

The Cast Technician at Mayo Clinic plays a crucial role in providing routine patient care under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse. Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of orthopedic and/or Sports Medicine experience.
• Active BLS certification.
• Previous casting/splinting experience strongly recommended.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills including PCO, Med Rec, EGS, Kronos, MS Word, Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Medical terminology course helpful.
• ASOP certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out routine patient care activities under supervision.
• Perform general casting, splinting, bracing, and DME fitting.
• Instruct patients on the use of crutches, canes, and exercises related to casts.
• Apply and remove casts and splints as necessary.
