The Orthopaedic Phone Nurse supports providers in delivering highâquality patient care within a busy orthopaedic practice. This role utilizes strong criticalâthinking skills and clinical judgment to assess patient needs, provide guidance, and coordinate care through effective phoneâbased communication. Responsibilities include thorough documentation in the EMR, assisting patients and providers with timely and accurate information, and ensuring all communication is conducted professionally and respectfully. The Orthopaedic Phone Nurse will crossâtrain in Orthopaedic Office/Clinic Nurse duties and maintain familiarity with physician workflow, hospital resources, and community support options to best meet the needs of patients. This position also manages paperwork such as FMLA, ShortâTerm Disability, and Workers’ Compensation forms, and follows all Wabash General Hospital policies related to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
