About The Position

Dartmouth Health’s Department of Orthopaedics is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) to work at our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH. This APP will work within the clinic seeing the full breadth of Orthopaedic conditions, assisting with pre and postoperative education and ongoing support, performing history and physical examinations, and initiating appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition. Candidates will have the opportunity to first-assist in the OR. Specialization will be determined based on candidate’s interests and experience. This is a 40-hour per week exempt position, no night call or weekend responsibilities.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
• Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program
• National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Responsibilities

• Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition
• Assess the findings and history, review of systems, physical examination and diagnostic tests
• Develop implements and manages therapeutic treatment regimens in collaboration with our Orthopedists
• Perform complete history and physical examinations
• Provide pre and postoperative education and ongoing support to Orthopaedic patients
• Promote teamwork and patient centered care
