The Orthoimagery Product Leader is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Ortho production and has responsibility and ownership of management of Ortho projects including defining requirements, assigning tasks and resources, and solving complex issues to ensure quality levels and deadlines are met and ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations. This position is responsible for keeping ISO processes and work instructions current and training all team members to understand and comply with them. Effectively leads team in accordance with the Company’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography or Geospatial field or a combination of college coursework and work experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a GIS-related position.
  • Knowledge of various aerial sensor platforms, orthorectification processes, Digital Elevation Models DEMs and industry geospatial tools.
  • Knowledge of company’s services, products, and processes.
  • Ability to manage, track and produce large amounts of project data and database management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities based on client needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a GIS-related position.
  • ESRI Arcmap / Arcpro Experience.
  • Global Mapper Experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop.

Responsibilities

  • Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on highly complex assignments. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
  • Provide clear direction and training to technical staff to enhance efficiency and ensure process adherence.
  • Review and update ISO project documentation, work instructions, and process training to ensure compliance.
  • Lead R&D collaborations for the development, testing, and implementation of technical advancements and process improvements.
  • Organize and lead a technical team, setting clear priorities and expectations.
  • Engage in hiring, training, and coaching of staff to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Provide regular, constructive performance feedback and foster a positive work environment in line with the company's mission.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Ortho Product Lead, Director of Orthoimagery, and team members regarding project schedules, updates, and issues.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with Marketing and Business Development to support client proposals, presentations, and conference representation.
  • Ensure timely and transparent two-way communication within the team and across departments.
  • Create superior ortho imagery products, ensuring adherence to ISO quality objectives.
  • Actively reduce rescheduling, maximize first-time client acceptance, and guarantee on-time delivery of final products.
  • Rigorously ensure all products meet exact standards for quality, resulting in first-time acceptance by clients.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress meticulously and manage deliverables to ensure adherence to scheduled timelines.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, assigning them to technical staff and ensuring follow-ups are conducted daily.
  • Remain at the forefront of ortho imagery production advancements through ongoing education and training sessions.
  • Identify and recommend innovative solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Partner with R&D to advance the state of ortho imagery products through innovative technologies.
  • Provide essential technical support for market-facing activities, including proposals and client presentations.
  • Represent the company’s technical capabilities at industry conferences and seminars, enhancing brand reputation.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients to understand their needs and ensure the product aligns with market demand
  • Design and manage state-of-the-art image and web services that cater to client needs and market trends.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation within the team, promoting continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Enforce strict compliance with ISO standards and company policies within all project documentation and processes.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate these into team training and project execution.
