Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Provide seamless chair-side support to an experienced orthodontists using efficient four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare treatment rooms meticulously, ensuring all instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and ready for use following standard protocol
- Promptly break down and reset treatment rooms post-procedure, returning instruments for immediate sterilization
- Organize and set up procedure trays according to the day’s patient charts and expected treatments
- Daily morning meeting and team schedule review, anticipating the doctor's needs in advance
- Greet, seat, and screen patients - communicating patient concerns effectively to the doctor
- Review patient charts and maintain patient records, ensuring they are up to date
- Provide patient education on proper care and maintenance of orthodontic appliances
- Take quality diagnostic records consisting of intra and extraoral photographs, intraoral scanning using the iTero scanner, panoramic, cephalometric, and 3D/CBCT x-rays as needed
- Assist the orthodontist during patient procedures, including the placement and adjustment of braces, wires, appliances, Invisalign, and retainers.
- Ensure operatories are consistently well-stocked and organized to support efficient patient care
- Manage inventory and order materials as needed
