MyOrthodontist is seeking an upbeat Orthodontic Dental Assistant who works well with patients and teammates, and enjoys helping others improve their smiles. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • Ability to assist Doctor with orthodontic treatment in accordance with state regulations.
  • Proficiency in taking complete records including, digital scans, diagnostic x-rays and photos.
  • Ability to educate patients on oral healthcare of braces, aligners and/or their appliances.
  • Skill in accurately charting and documenting all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
  • Ability to review patient charts, medical history, treatment plans, and consent forms to identify potential concerns.
  • Efficiency and attention to detail in completing chair-side duties.
  • Knowledge and practice of sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, and setting up trays.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with parents/patients regarding concerns and treatment questions.
  • Adherence to HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in office meetings, continuing education events, and morning huddles.
  • Ability to take impressions or bite registrations, pour and fabricate Essix retainers, stints and/or study models.
  • Ability to stock drawers, clean, and set up/break down patient chairs daily.
  • Compliance with state and federal OSHA laws, infection control, and safety standards in the office and operatory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of Ortho Assisting experience
  • English/Spanish language proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Assist Doctor with orthodontic treatment in accordance with state regulations.
  • Take complete records including, digital scans, diagnostic x-rays and photos
  • Educate patients on oral healthcare of braces, aligners and/or their appliances.
  • Accurately chart and document all notes pertaining to the patient during the exam and treatment set forth by the Company guidelines.
  • Review the patient’s chart, medical history and treatment plan and consent forms prior to treatment, identify any potential concerns for you and the Doctor to consider.
  • Complete chair-side duties efficiently, paying attention to detail.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, set up trays.
  • Communicate with parents/patients at the end of each visit to address concerns and answer treatment questions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Attend and participate in all office meetings, continuing education events and morning huddles.
