About The Position

Wentz Orthodontics is looking for a passionate and energetic Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our well-established practices in both Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska. While this position does require travel to both office locations. However, it will primarily be based out of Fairbanks. Requirements

  • Previous Orthodontic or Dental Assistant experience is preferred.
  • Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community
  • Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating.
  • Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
  • Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
  • Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene.
  • Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
  • Provide reports to parents/guardians.
  • Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
  • Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
  • Unload and store new supplies.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the practice.
