The Physical Therapist Assistant conducts physical therapy under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role involves implementing an individualized treatment plan of care based on the findings and goals established by the Physical Therapist evaluation, utilizing Practice Standards and recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs. The Therapist Assistant modifies treatment plans as appropriate based on ongoing assessments and consultation with the Physical Therapist. They also collect patient data and communicate discharge recommendations to the Physical Therapist when maximum benefit has been achieved. Accurate and timely documentation is required, along with charging patients according to guidelines.
