About The Position

The primary duty of the Ortho Dental Assistant I is to assist the Orthodontist in the overall delivery of oral care as well as work independently to provide outstanding patient care. The Ortho Dental Assistant I will be an integral part of the patient care team by consistently delivering the most memorable and fun service experience possible for every patient, every day!

Requirements

• Must have current and active CPR certification
• Must have Dental Assistant Certification – required
• Infection Control Certificate – required
• Radiation Certificate – required
• Upbeat personality is a MUST
• Loves working with children
• Patient focused, team player
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Dentrix a plus
• Travel to other office locations as required

Responsibilities

• Prepare office with daily opening and closing duties
• Prepare treatment area for patient by following procedures and protocols
• Prepare patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting and seating patient
• Take digital x-rays
• Educate parents about oral hygiene and their child’s oral health
• Hand off patient at check -out
• Complete care calls and thank you cards
• Assist in managing and controlling supply inventory
• Maintain strict compliance with all pertinent laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, Dental Board)
• Maintain safe and clean working environment
• Other duties as assigned
