The ORR Initial Resettlement Services Caseworker provides trauma-informed support to Ukrainian families and individuals in San Diego on Humanitarian Parole. The role focuses on helping clients achieve self-sufficiency through the development of personalized service plans that address their financial, medical, social, and vocational needs. The Caseworker collaborates with clients, colleagues, and external organizations to ensure access to essential services and resources.

  • Coordinate timely services to ensure each client has living essentials such as housing, food, medical care, and access to transportation.
  • Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs and develop self-sufficiency plans in partnership with each client.
  • Provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
  • Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals and address challenges.
  • Case note each client interaction in accordance with program requirements and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations, building relationships with area service providers.
  • Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation to travel and transport clients and materials as needed.
  • May train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant professional experience in the human services field required; experience with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English and Haitian Creole or Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
