About The Position

Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute (OHHVI) is seeking an experienced Cardiologist with a specialization in Sports Medicine to join our esteemed Central Florida team. This position is not available for J1 visa sponsorship. The ideal candidate will have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited cardiovascular fellowship and an Internal Medicine Residency. Board Certification or Board Eligibility by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology is required, along with experience in Sports Medicine. While catheterization skills are welcomed, additional board certifications in Echo, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac CT are also advantageous. Candidates must possess an unrestricted Florida medical license or the ability to obtain one, as well as a DEA license. It is essential that applicants are authorized to work in the United States for any employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position. A bilingual candidate, particularly one who speaks Spanish, is highly desirable. The role involves a mix of outpatient clinic visits and inpatient rounds, with the expectation of managing cardiac issues to facilitate an active lifestyle for patients. The candidate will be responsible for clearing patients for active sports from a cardiovascular perspective. Weekend call is structured at 1:4, and we encourage experienced cardiologists and fellows to apply. OHHVI supports the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s active Sports Medicine program, providing a collaborative environment for patient care. OHHVI is recognized as a US News Top 50 Heart & Vascular Institute, serving the Central Florida community with a team of over 70 physicians and 70 Advanced Practice Providers. Our practice encompasses a wide range of specialty services, including Interventional, Structural, Electrophysiology, General Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. As part of the Orlando Health system, we offer cardiovascular fellowship training in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and advanced cardiac imaging.
