About The Position

ASRC Federal is seeking a NDE Quality Inspector, Senior at Kennedy Space Center, FL. This position involves being a Non-Destructive Test (NDT)/Quality Control (QC) inspector supporting the Orion manned space flight program in the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Facility at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The program is a fast-paced Manufacturing and Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO) environment. Inspectors will work with experienced Quality Engineering (QE) and NDT inspection teams collaborating with engineering and manufacturing support functions to ensure that product quality and acceptance requirements are met. This position primarily performs nondestructive evaluation providing results and defect analysis in coordination with other Orion ATLO operational and engineering groups. Inspectors will be expected to support program inspections during off-shifts and on short notice to support ATLO program needs and schedules. Inspectors also investigate instances of nonconforming materials, facilitate the determination of root cause, corrective/preventative actions, and provide recommendation of disposition for Material Review Board (MRB) action.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Prior Aerospace experience with NAS410 (or equivalent) Level 2 or 3 certification in at least three methods.
  • Current ASNT Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) certification.
  • 40hr Formal CR/DR Training Course.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and database utilization.
  • Willingness to travel domestically for NDT business.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control/Quality Systems and Processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, be thorough and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and job closure skills.
  • Ability to work within tight spaces and lift heavy equipment.
  • Previous composite material inspection and AWS CWI experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with orbital tube weld inspections.

Responsibilities
