This is an exciting opportunity within the Commercial Civil Space Line of Business, supporting the Orion Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle is NASA's first spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth. The Orion F&BO team is seeking a strong collaborator, proven problem solver, and team focused individual to lead our FP&A team. This dynamic role will be responsible for leading the financial Long Range Plan (LRP) as the Orion program transitions into a full production environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or any related area
  • Prior experience in the FP&A discipline
  • Knowledge of Business Systems or SAP
  • Demonstrated strong analytical or problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated professional presence and business acumen skills
  • Proven ability to communicate multi-directionally and present financial data to various levels of leadership
  • Strong Microsoft office skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of program finance or Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience in complying with FAR, CAS, Sarbanes Oxley and internal business control procedures

  • Prior experience managing orders, sales, earnings and cash and utilizing the Hyperion planning tool

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program financial planning deliverables and lead associated reviews on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Team lead supporting four FP&A analysts, providing financial training, career guidance and back-up support as required
  • Make decisions regarding the orders, sales, EBIT and cash plan and drive process improvements
  • Support program and offsite overhead and MSC budgets
  • Review and approve program billings, research issues and proactively work solutions
  • Support both internal and external financial control audit activities, as required
