About The Position

The Original Equipment Test Defects Reduction Project Lead will drive initiatives to improve new make testing processes and reduce defects in alignment with GE Aerospace's SQDC priorities—Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost—and FLIGHT DECK standards. This role will focus on achieving measurable improvements in test defect reduction rate, first-pass yield of engine tests, reducing customer escapes, and improving root cause resolution time, ensuring compliance with GE Aerospace quality metrics and lean operating principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field from an accredited college or university; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace, manufacturing, or a related industry, with a focus on quality and defect reduction.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Travel will be required to GE testing sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to identify, analyze, and eliminate defects in original equipment testing processes, ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace quality metrics.
  • Apply FLIGHT DECK standards such as Action Plan, Problem Solving Report, At Point Problem Solving and lean methodologies, including Kaizen, Standard Work, and root cause analysis, to improve testing processes and reduce variability.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to address defect root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize statistical tools and data analytics to monitor defect trends, measure project outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to execute defect reduction projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with SQDC priorities.
  • Reduce customer escapes by improving testing processes and ensuring compliance with GE Aerospace quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, key metrics, and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
