About The Position

Long Prairie Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for an Orientation Trainer at our Long Prairie, MN plant. As Orientation Trainer, you will: Undergo I-9 and iCIMS training to expedite the onboarding process. Facilitate new hire orientation: present or coordinate for all classroom and hands-on sessions pertaining to safety processes, food safety procedures, and other facility-wide methods. Monitor new hires during the week-long onboarding and orientation period and make recommendations to management and/or Human Resources regarding training, concerns, and continued employment. Familiarize oneself with company policies, processes, and procedures, and communicate them clearly to new employees. Promote a positive rapport with new hires, peers, and management. Teach, demonstrate, and promote the company’s commitment to safety and quality of training. Assist with annual employee training (lock out/tag out, heavy machinery, harassment, safety, food safety, etc.). Maintain, distribute, and assist with all necessary paperwork. Assist with employee development as it pertains to acquiring job skills, proper protective equipment uses and care, proper company policies and procedures. Attend and participate in safety and communication meetings and other events. Translate as needed across various meeting and events. Participate in and potentially lead various Human Resources-based events. Assist with daily, weekly and monthly departmental clerical tasks. Stock and re-order various items periodically. Maintain total confidentiality to prevent the disclosure of sensitive information to unsolicited parties. NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the plant alongside any employee in any environmental condition.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and proficiently in Haitian Creole AND either English or Spanish.
  • Detail-oriented so that orientation procedures may be conducted and completed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
  • Ability to convey a professional image to employees.
  • Ability and willingness to instruct, coach, and lead others effectively.
  • Self-motivation, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and drive.
  • Ability and willingness to learn other skills as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of UKG and iCIMS or other similar HRIS/ATS.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • At least six month’s experience in an HR setting.
  • At least six months of prior training experience.
