About The Position

SEIU Local 2015 is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Organizing Coordinator (External Organizing Manager) to lead frontline organizing operations across assigned campaigns and regions. This role reports directly to the Growth Director and is responsible for managing Lead Organizers, executing campaign strategy, and ensuring accountability to campaign benchmarks and growth outcomes. The Organizing Coordinator serves as the operational bridge between strategy (Director level) and field execution, translating campaign plans into daily organizing activity, coaching staff, and driving measurable results. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong organizing judgment, staff development capability, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-pressure campaign environments.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of organizing experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • Experience leading or supporting organizing campaigns, including field execution and staff coordination
  • Experience supervising staff or leading teams in high-pressure environments
  • Strong understanding of organizing fundamentals, campaign pacing, and escalation strategy
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns or worksites simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Execution & Field Leadership Execute multi-site private sector organizing campaigns from assessment through recognition, neutrality, or election.
  • Translate campaign strategy into daily, weekly, and monthly field plans for Lead Organizers and organizing teams.
  • Drive campaign pacing, escalation plans, and field deployment aligned with growth targets.
  • Monitor campaign progress and adjust tactics in real time to meet benchmarks.
  • Lead field operations during high-intensity campaign phases, including escalation actions and major events.
  • Staff Leadership & Performance Management Directly supervise Lead Organizers and organizing staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations tied to campaign KPIs and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed, including discipline and termination recommendations.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of organizing staff.
  • Member & Leadership Development Build systems to identify, recruit, and develop worker leaders within organizing campaigns.
  • Ensure organizing teams are effectively moving workers through engagement pipelines (contact → activist → leader).
  • Support leadership structures that are sustainable beyond individual campaign cycles.
  • Drive accountability for leadership development benchmarks across teams.
  • Operational Coordination & Data Discipline Ensure accurate and timely tracking of organizing activity using VAN, Salesforce, or comparable systems.
  • Monitor field metrics and campaign dashboards to assess performance.
  • Partner with Research, Political, and Communications teams to align campaign strategy and execution.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement corrective strategies quickly.
  • Maintain disciplined reporting to the Growth Director on campaign progress and risks.
