About The Position

The Organist position at Annunciation B.V.M. Parish is a part-time role focused on providing musical support for church services and choir rehearsals. Requirements

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in Music, though not required.
• Experience as a church organist preferred; must be able to read and play sheet music.
• Knowledge of liturgical practices and special functions of the Catholic Church.
• High proficiency in the use of the organ and piano.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work with others.
• Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Music Director is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan all aspects of the music for the church and choir, including quarterly hymn selections.
• Provide organ music for all regularly scheduled Masses and additional holy days of obligation.
• Serve as organist for funerals and weddings when available.
• Conduct choir rehearsals on Sundays between the 8:00 and 10:30 AM Masses.
• Report any concerns regarding the organ, piano, mics, etc. to the Pastor.
• Prepare diligently for performances and cooperate with others to ensure a high standard of worship.
