About The Position

Under general supervision of the Organ Perfusion Manager, following policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, assists with all procedures requiring the use of Lifeport Kidney Pump, OrganOx Liver perfusion device, and other related surgical procedures. Provides, assembles, and cares for all perfusion supplies, instruments, and equipment before, during and after procedures, cleans and maintains all perfusion equipment, and assists perfusion team leader with ordering and stocking all perfusion supplies and equipment in the surgical suites. Administers medication under the direction of the physician. Responsible for performing Job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Surgical Assistant program.
• Current CST or Surgical Assistant certification required.
• CTP certification from the ABTC Required
• Ability to work in varied surgical settings.
• This position has been evaluated as a Level 1 in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) definition of occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens. Level I Positions in this category require the performance of tasks which involve exposure to blood and potentially infectious body fluids.

Nice To Haves

• 2-3 years of surgical assistant or surgical tech experience preferred.
