OREC Lab Manager/Research Coordinator
About The Position
The position is half administration (for OREC research projects and operations) and half research (publication, grant/funding proposal writing, etc.). The research part calls for an established scientist in the field of renewable energy engineering and closely related engineering/research fields. The OREC Lab Manager will report directly to the OREC Director. The OREC Lab Manager/Research Coordinator will spend approximately half of the time on management for the Oregon Renewable Energy Center ( OREC ) lab space and general operations, and the other half of the time on executing renewable energy research project development/grant drafting.
Nice To Haves
- 3 or more years’ experience in electrical shops that includes use of renewable energy technology band set up, such as solar photovoltaics, battery energy storage, electric transportation (vehicle, aviation, etc.), grid integration/resilience, wind turbine, geothermals, etc.
- Minor electrical troubleshooting/repair, electrical/electronics instruction experience, research experience in renewable energy
- Proven desire/ability to work with students and faculty
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary research projects
