We’re even more interested in your positive attitude and flexible mindset! The orderly provides routine housekeeping and environmental sanitation in our Surgi-centers. You will also assist with inventory control, materials management, and the transportation of patients.

Requirements

BCLS preferred
High school diploma required
Prior hospital or surgi-center experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
You’re a team player who works well with a team and independently

Responsibilities

Must be comfortable providing the highest level of care to our patients
Must maintain knowledge of infection control and basic sterile technique
Must have an understanding of proving patient care
Must be comfortable in a fast paced, pressured environment
Must be flexible and able to work multiple shifts
Dispose of waste in appropriate receptacles and report general repair issues to building manager
Maintain the supply of linens and empty hampers as needed
Setup anD break down OR’s as necessary
Collaborate with the circulating nurses to assist with patient flow
Take patients from pre-op to OR, and to post-op, and attach appropriate apparatuses
Report patient observations to the nurses
Exercise basic knowledge of patient body mechanics during positioning
Assist in the setup of the OR (switching foot pedals, setting up the scope, etc…)
Transport patients to their cars via wheelchair during discharge
