About The Position

This position transports patients to and from the O.R., handles routine tasks related to patient care, organizes equipment, and provides general cleaning of surgical suites. The role is full-time, 40 hours/week, consisting of 3x12 hour shifts, variable during the week, from 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m., including call weekend requirements. The position is located in the Operating Rooms at American Fork Hospital. Intermountain Health is a nonprofit system of 34 hospitals, 400+ clinics, a medical group of more than 4,800 employed physicians and advanced care providers, and a health plan division called Select Health with more than one million members. The company uses an AI platform, HiredScore, for recruitment, but final decisions are made by Intermountain personnel.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • For Orderly-Senior: Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class.

  • Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class (required within 90 days of hire or transfer into this job).

Responsibilities

  • Able to apply standards of and maintain sterile technique appropriately.
  • Getting and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Assist with turnover of the rooms. Including cleaning appropriately after the case and preparing the room for the next case.
  • Responsible for assisting anesthesia when needed. Including turnover anesthesia equipment.
  • Assisting anesthesia wherever needed.
  • Keep the department clean, including keeping hallways uncluttered by returning supplies/equipment to their proper storage areas.
  • Responsible for transporting patients to and from surgery.
  • Transports specimens appropriately, including blood and blood products.
