About The Position
This position transports patients to and from the O.R., handles routine tasks related to patient care, organizes equipment, and provides general cleaning of surgical suites.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class.

- Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class. Required within 90 days of hire or transfer into this job.
Responsibilities
- Applies standards of and maintains sterile technique appropriately.
- Obtains and restocks supplies when needed.
- Assists with turnover of the rooms including cleaning appropriately after the case and preparing the room for the next case.
- Assists anesthesia when needed including turnover anesthesia equipment.
- Keeps department clean including keeping hallways uncluttered by returning supplies and equipment to their proper storage areas.
- Responsible for transporting patients to and from surgery.
- Transports specimens appropriately including blood and blood products.
- May scrub into procedures and assist with organ holds, extremity holds, camera holds, and retractor holds.
- May open sterile supplies.
