About The Position

The In Room Dining Order Taker is responsible for being knowledgeable about all menu items and for taking accurate guest orders and putting them in the system, while providing a comfortable and genuine experience for the guest. This position requires answering the In Room Dining Telephone in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction, assisting with the organization and stocking of the In Room Dining Department, and monitoring the progress of guest dining experiences.

Requirements

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Ability to communicate orally and verbally in English.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to operate beverage and basic kitchen equipment.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer one year previous serving experience.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Food Handler Certification; Responsible Vendors Training; CPR Training preferred.
• Additional language ability is preferred, Spanish in particular.

Responsibilities

• Answer the In Room Dining Telephone in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Answer any questions the guest may have about menu items while upselling.
• Read the order back to the guest to assure that everything is correct.
• Quote the estimated delivery time to the guest.
• Assist and ensure that the In Room Dining Department is organized and fully stocked.
• Set up room service trays and tables in anticipation of incoming orders.
• Monitor progress of guest dining experience and remove trays and tables from guest floors.
• Assist with preparation of guest amenities and deliver to guest rooms.

Benefits

• $500 Sign-on Bonus, with $250 upon a successful 90 day completion and $250 upon 180 day completion of employment.
