About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Manager and/or, General Manager, the primary responsibility of the Order- Taker is to accurately record in-room dining orders placed by guests, upsell menu items, and ensure a flawless guest experience. Must keep a clean workstation and ensure guest satisfaction. Requirements

  • One (1) year of Food and Beverage experience in a high-paced environment with food service experience.
  • Exhibit presenteeism and punctuality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
  • Maintain a possess a Health Card
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
  • Knowledge of accommodations room capacities, amenities, and menu items including standard and alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledgeable of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
  • Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions, and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
  • Demonstrated experience developing department goals and action plans in accordance with property and overall company goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable of entire menu, proper food presentation, and wine selection for up-selling of items.
  • Take and place order into POS system, distribute order to serving staff, send information to cook station, and ensure timely pickup of order.
  • Advise owner and guest of delivery time and ensure order is delivered to suite in a timely fashion
  • Distribute orders to servers evenly and efficiently, log service runs, maintain a cash bank and ensure funds are correctly accounted for.
  • Ensure supplies are available in the service area.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and presentable environment; maintain constant awareness of sanitation, safety and accident prevention.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • The Order-Taker performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks, and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.
