About The Position

Fills tickets for the Weave Room for orders to be woven.

Requirements

• Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Must be able to discern colors and pass a color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Determine order to be filled from Supervisor and/or printed ticket.
• Record loom# obtained and # of tickets to be filled.
• Obtain yarn from bins.
• Match filling lots to minimize cloth defects associated with shade changes.
• Use piece cones when possible, but make sure lots are not mixed if a (X) is present.
• If mixed lots are allowed, follow all guidelines for proper filling of order.
• Fill ticket as specified.
• Be sure there is a sufficient amount of the correct yarn colors to complete the order.
• Make sure all SAP transactions are performed correctly and yarn is properly adjusted.
• Take yarn to the Transport staging area to be taken to the loom by the Transporter.
• Keep yarn bins clean and in order when filling tickets.
• Make sure to bag all “white” yarn.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work scheduled overtime as required.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
• Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
• Maintain 5 S standards.
• Ear protection required in Weave Room at all times and safety belt/harness required when using motorized equipment.
