This reliable, self-starting individual, as part of the Orion shipping team, is responsible for warehousing, pulling, packaging and preparing orders for shipment to customers. This position reports to the Orion/Radiant Value Stream Leader. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in Warehouse or Shipping/Receiving department.
  • Must be able to follow routine instructions and then make sound judgments to perform the role safely.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift, inside the site and outside at dock storage.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Reads shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and transfers items to staging area.
  • Palletizes or packages materials as required for shipment.
  • Loads or unloads trucks.
  • Receives materials and moves to specified storage area.
  • Enters and retrieves specified data on UPS computer terminal.
  • Weighs and verifies box code against sales order.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Uses forklift to complete work assignment.
  • Participate in problem solving, training and Kaizen activities.
  • Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
