As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team.   • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.
  • Provide 'chairside' assistance to the oral surgeon, anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.
  • Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.
  • Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.
  • Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.
  • Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
  • Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
  • Greeting guests with a smile.
  • Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures.
  • Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays.
  • Preparing treatment rooms.
  • Assisting with conscious and iv sedation.
  • Performing X-rays.
  • Charting existing and recommended treatments.
  • Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team.
  • Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of specific oral surgery experience.
  • Must be willing to travel within assigned areas.
