About The Position

The Oral Surgery Dental Assistant position is a part-time role focused on supporting dental professionals in providing high-quality patient care. The assistant will be responsible for preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and educating patients on oral hygiene. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while assisting dentists during procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus
  • Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
  • Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays)
  • Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays
  • Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations
  • Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it
  • New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training
  • New York: Not applicable
  • Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
  • Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners

Responsibilities

  • Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
  • Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
  • Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
  • Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately
