About The Position
Assists the oral surgeon during medical procedures.
Requirements
- One year of oral surgery assistant experience preferred
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparation and set-up of for surgical procedures in the office and hospital operating rooms.
- Monitors patients and assists with general anesthesia and IV sedation procedures in hospital and outpatient office settings.
- Discusses post-operative instructions for care and management with the patient. Relays post-operative complications/questions to surgeon.
- Maintains surgical equipment.
