About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our dynamic team part time. The Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon will specialize in diagnosing and surgically treating diseases, injuries, and defects of the oral and maxillofacial region in children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in performing a variety of surgical procedures and will work closely with other medical professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
Completion of a residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Valid state medical license and DEA.
Extensive experience in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients.

Nice To Haves

Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery is preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and diagnose diseases, injuries, and defects in the oral and maxillofacial region in pediatric patients.
Perform surgical procedures such as removing impacted teeth, correcting cleft lip and palate, and treating facial injuries.
Provide surgical treatment for tumors and cysts of the jaws.
Collaborate with other specialists, such as orthodontists and pediatric dentists, to plan treatment for conditions such as malocclusion and dental arch abnormalities.
Manage patients with severe oral and maxillofacial trauma or infections.
Administer anesthetics and sedatives to ensure patient comfort during surgical procedures.
Conduct post-operative care and follow-up, including monitoring patients for complications.
Communicate with patients and their parents about surgical procedures, potential risks, and post-operative care.
Keep accurate and detailed patient records, including diagnosis, treatment plans, and surgical notes.
Stay updated on the latest techniques, technologies, and medical findings in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery through continuous learning and professional development.
